Stiles Construction’s Craftsmanship Honored with 12 Awards From Construction Association of South Florida
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Stiles Construction project team members received 12 awards at the 2009 Construction Association of South Florida (CASF) Craftsmanship Awards event on Nov. 5. The honors were presented for exceptional craftsmanship on eight South Florida projects built by Stiles for clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Lexus of North Miami – Four Craftsmanship Awards for construction of the nation’s largest Lexus dealership recognized quality work in structure and finishes. The new 1 million square-foot facility in North Miami includes innovative customer features including a resort-like Lexus Lifestyle Center. Subcontractors honored were: Core Slab Structures, Inc. in the category of Cast in Place Concrete; Gruenthal Construction for its Stuctural Metal Framing; Advanced Woodworking, Inc. for the dealership’s Architectural Woodwork, and CreativeTouch Interiors in the Tile category.
West Kendall Toyota Showroom – This new 162,589-square-foot automobile dealership, built for Kendall Toyota, the Southeast’s largest Toyota dealer, includes a three-story garage structure and showroom occupying the ground floor. Crawford Tracey Corporation won the award in the Glass & Glazing category, and Kux Graphics Architectural Products won for Metal Fabrication.
JA World Huizenga Center – Stiles Construction built the world’s largest Junior Achievement education center -- the 59,500-square-foot JA World’s Huizenga Center at Broward College’s North Campus in Coconut Creek. The structure enables Junior Achievement to provide more than 50,000 students a year from Broward and South Palm Beach County schools with “hands-on” educational programs in business, entrepreneurship and personal financial management. The building also serves as headquarters for Junior Achievement of South Florida and includes training and meeting space. Daddona Studios, Inc. won a Craftsmanship Award in the Art category.
Harbor Beach Marriott Ballroom Addition – Winner in the category of Drywall Framing was Sam’s Drywall for the 18,000-square-foot addition to this hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Meadowbrook Elementary – Stiles constructed a new kitchen for the Fort Lauderdale school, along with cafeteria, playgrounds and utility room renovations. Southeast Mechanical Contractor won the award for Building Services Piping.
City Center at Pembroke Pines – Stiles provided site development in two phases for this 143-acre project, ncluding lake creation, wetland mitigation, earth works, infrastructure, roads, hardscapes and utilities. Hollywood Stone won the award in the Pavers category.
Trump International Hotel & Tower – This tower is a luxury 5-star condominium hotel with 298 guest suites deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom suites with oceanfront and Intracoastal views on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The award for Swimming Pool-Commercial was presented to Dillon Pools, Inc.
Animal Hospital at the Palm Beach Zoo - Stiles Construction built the 10,165-square-foot, single-story veterinary hospital, which is LEED certified. The facility includes animal holding areas, treatment and surgical rooms, laboratory, offices and conference room. An award for Metal Fabrication went to Southeastern Steel.
