A Checklist for Selecting the Right Contractor
Choose carefully.  You will live with the decision for a long time.

Here is a checklist to follow when choosing your contractor:

1. Look at both recent and past jobs.

2. Talk to past customers.

3. Check credit history and financial stability.

4. Check payment reputation.

5. Check litigation history.

6. Meet with the owners and the key employee who will be managing your job.

7. Look at job control techniques.

8. Check current workload. Can they really handle your job?

9. Ask specific questions regarding your job and weigh the answers.

10. Can you communicate openly with this contractor?
