What The Contractor Expects From You

Tips for Owners

Your team members expect the following from you, the owner.

1. Communicate your objectives and expectations from the very beginning.

2. Provide the necessary money.

3. Provide the land, and access to that land.

4. Lead the team, or designate someone to lead.

5. Attend all important meetings, or designate a representative to attend.

6. Make decisions promptly.

7. Pay promptly.

8. Be willing to accept reasonable standards of performance.  Perfection is rare in construction.

9. Be prepared to accept the risk of unpredictable conditions.

10. Be responsible for your own actions which affect the job.
