Stiles, a full-service real estate development firm based in Fort Lauderdale, announced today that construction on its newest Publix grocery-anchored shopping center in Hollywood, Fla, West Lake Commons, is 60 percent complete and on-track to open in April 2014 with a roster of quality national and local tenants. Along with Publix and Publix Liquors, new tenants include: Starbucks; Pollo Tropical; Wells Fargo; UPS; TLC Dental; AIO Wireless; China Wok; and Organic Nail Bar.

According to Vice President of Retail Services Ryan Karlin, West Lake Commons is experiencing significant leasing interest. “West Lake Commons is drawing a lot of attention from national and local tenants due to its quality lead anchor tenant Publix, excellent location along major state road US1 and strong consumer demographics,” said Karlin. “In addition to the leases we have already secured, we continue to be in active negotiations with another national bank, several quick-service restaurants, salons, amongst others.”

The approximate $35 million shopping center is located on the corner of Sheridan Street and S. Federal Highway at 1700 Sheridan Street in Hollywood, Fla. According to President of Stiles Doug Eagon, West Lake Commons is expected to launch the renewal of one of Hollywood’s most visible commercial and residential areas, trafficked by more than 50,000 cars per day.

“The upcoming opening of this shopping center will be a proud moment for Stiles, our partners and lenders, as well as the City of Hollywood,” said Eagon. “Our vision to redevelop a highly visible area in Hollywood is finally coming to fruition, and we look forward to creating value for the city while providing an urban pedestrian experience for the local community.”

West Lake Commons will be a transformation of the former Hollywood Lincoln Mercury Dealership situated on a 14-acre site that serves as a gateway into the city. The project features a 54,000-square-foot Publix with expanded gourmet selection, 26,000 square feet of inline retail space and up to 20,000 square feet of outparcels.

In addition, the project will uphold Stiles’ commitment to sustainable development. Stiles will implement a variety of “green” practices during construction and in the management of the project, including: construction waste management; use of low-emitting materials, recycled content and locally-sourced materials; increased energy efficiency; green housekeeping; and integrated pest management. Stiles has developed, constructed or played a key consulting role in 19 South Florida LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects.

As the state’s leading full-service commercial real estate firm, Stiles is deploying the expertise of its various business units to finance, develop, construct, lease and manage the project. Stiles divisions involved are Stiles Financial Services, Stiles Development, Stiles Architectural Group, Stiles Construction, Stiles Realty and Stiles Property Management.

Both outparcels and in-line space at the property are currently available for lease, with bays starting at 1100 square feet. For more information, please visit http://stiles.com or call 954-627-9400.
