Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Construction, Florida’s 69-year old premier construction management services provider, has received three prestigious Eagle Awards at the 2020 Annual Excellence in Construction Competition hosted by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Florida East Coast Chapter.

The ABC awards recognize the year’s top construction projects that exhibit superior quality, high standards in workmanship and excellent safety records. Eagle Award recipients are qualified to enter winning projects into the ABC National Competition. The winners were announced in a virtual awards program held on October 22.

“Receiving these awards is a significant honor given their stringent criteria and the impressive projects with which we compete,” stated Tim Moore, president of Stiles Construction. “Our team is committed to excellence and continuous innovation in everything we do, and these awards are an affirmation of the quality of work Stiles delivers.”

Stiles took home honors for the following projects:

  • Belmont Village Senior Living: The nationwide brand’s first community in Florida is located at 1031 Seminole Drive in Fort Lauderdale. The 12-story building is approximately 212,000 SF and located in the premier dining, shopping, and entertainment area of Fort Lauderdale beach. Construction began in May 2018 and completed in Fall 2019. The structure is built to high standards for life safety with cast-in-place post tension on pile caps and auger cast piles. The Belmont Village project was recognized in 2020 with a University of South Florida Sunshine State Safety Award.
  • The Laureat Apartments: A 25-story luxury apartment building located at 790 E. Broward Blvd. at the intersection with SE 8th Avenue. Featuring 327 units, the project encompasses nearly 661,000 SF and includes a 508-space parking garage as well as a recreational deck and an array of high-end luxury amenities. The Laureat Apartments project was recognized in 2020 with a University of South Florida Sunshine State Safety Award.
  • Gunther Volvo, Delray Beach: This 225,000 SF dealership includes an open, airy showroom, service area, interior car wash, and three-story parking garage. This project marks the second dealership designed and built by Stiles utilizing the new Volvo design prototype.  A unique feature of the design is the use of a custom glazing system of blue thermo-glass which is an unusual laminate process involving interlays that is specific to Volvo dealerships. Stiles has built and is currently underway with seven projects for Gunther Volvo.

“This year’s awards truly commemorate the commitment of our essential construction workforce,” commented Moore. “COVID-19 shone a spotlight on the industry’s men and women who step up and push through the most challenging circumstances to help each other and their communities in times of need. Being in South Florida, we had to adapt to the pandemic quickly and create a safe and efficient working environment. The effort from our staff and industry collectively was nothing less than remarkable and got us to the finish line on our various projects. We salute our industry professionals on the front lines who make it happen every day — safely.”
